Chinese tech company, DJI, have just a revealed a new action camera which could finally provide rival to the GoPro. The Osmo Action is a compact shooter that has a plethora of exciting features including a front-facing screen, which gives it a snazzy unique selling point for those who are selfie minded.
The sturdy little camera is waterproof up to 11 metres, shockproof, and temperature resistant to as low as -10℃, which means it can survive on a wet night in Stoke. It also has a 'RockSteady' setting to match the stabilisation efforts of the GoPro Hero 7 Black. Like the Hero, the Osmo Action is able to shoot in 4k at 60fps and includes the same 8x slow-motion capture feature as its rival.
While the Osmo Action's front-facing screen is a major plus when it comes to choosing it instead of a GoPro, one issue that was noted by The Verge, is that it appears not to pull in as wide of a capture area.
In terms of pricing DJI have it available to buy on their website for €379, compared to the €429.99 you'll need to spend if you want to buy the GoPro Hero 7 Black. All-in-all this definitely seems like this could be a decent and cheaper alternative to the action camera juggernaut.
