Former Line of Duty actor Craig Parkinson believes that we will see one of the show's main characters die during season six.
Parkinson played Matthew 'Dot' Cottan for the first three seasons. He now hosts the BBC's 'Obsessed with... Line of Duty' podcast.
"Something that we didn't touch on last week that's been hiding in plain sight is the overall tag for season six. It says, 'Lies cost lives'," said Parkinson on the podcast.
"Already, it’s scaring me. I feel something tragic is going to happen to some character that we love.
"What the hell are we going to do if something happens to Kate, Steve or Ted? Let's just put those three in the mix right now. That's the worry, that there has to be something [that happens].
"I’m saying Steve. He's a broken Steve. He's at John Corbett's widow's house and he is in agony when he sits down. He knows exactly where those [painkilling] pills are. You look at John Corbett’s widow’s face when she opens that glovebox with all those pills. She's visibly shocked.
"Imagine if it was Ted: the whole of the UK would be in mourning, there will be a national Ted Hastings Memorial Day."
English actress Jessie Cave was a guest on the podcast. She believes that something will happen to Kate resulting from her relationship with the Kelly MacDonald-played character Jo Davidson.
"I just feel that, especially in episode two, but even in episode one, there were little clues," said Cave.
"She’s much more open emotionally than I’ve ever seen her and her relationship with Jo. I know that she might be tricking her. I think she might be flirting and being emotionally available to Jo for a greater good. My prediction is that she really like Jo. She knows something is going on. She's willing to put herself in danger for this flirtation. They will become really close, and Kate's going to get burnt by that."
