You wouldn't get this kind of thing in Boyle. Chris O'Dowd posted a video on Twitter last night of his street in LA with fires burning on another night of protesting and riots spread across the cities of the United States of America. This follows the death earlier in the week of George Floyd at the hands of police in Minnesota.

It turns out O'Dowd's bins were helping burn those fires.
Turns out our wheelie bins ended up in that blaze. #HotMess

In Chicago, actor John Cusack was also on the scene of disturbances, and had his bike attacked by police!
Cops didn’t like me filming the burning car so they came at me with batons. Hitting my bike.

These were some of the peace officers - who gently tuned up my bike with their batons- pic.twitter.com/atMf8VaV6l

This is certainly a scary situation for all American cities at the moment with protests getting larger, more widespread, and angrier every day and police reaction getting all the more irrational.
Yesterday, a spate of police action across the country was filmed and shared on social media. In New York, a police car purposely rammed into a group of protesters, while in Memphis, the National Guard raided a residential street like they were playing Call of Duty, shooting paint guns at people standing outside their own homes.
Share widely: National guard and MPD sweeping our residential street. Shooting paint canisters at us on our own front porch. Yelling “light em up” #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd #JusticeForGeorge #BlackLivesMatter pic.twitter.com/bW48imyt55

NYPD hitting a protestor with a car door in BK. Wow it’s almost like this isn’t really about protecting the public. pic.twitter.com/9DTIv1QYe9

After incidents over the last couple of days, including this one, the press covering the protests were not immune to police overreaction again yesterday with several incidents.
Police just raided the gas station we were sheltering at. After shouting press multiple times and raising my press card in the air, I was thrown to the ground. Then another cop came up and peppered sprayed me in the face while I was being held down. pic.twitter.com/23EkZIMAFC

It's unlikely there will be let up in the riots today. Last night there were disturbing reports that white supremacist groups were infiltrating the protests to escalate things and invoke a race war. Disturbing.
