The Burke family continue to take a significant place among the daily news reporting in Ireland, with the ongoing court case surrounding Enoch Burke bringing chaotic scenes on Tuesday afternoon.
Enoch Burke was instructed to stay away from Wilson's Hospital School - where he was, until recently, a member of the teaching staff - after a court injunction late last year. The injunction stemmed from hostility which began when Burke incorrectly addressed a student in late 2022.
Early 2023 saw Burke repeatedly show up outside the gates of the school, in an attempt to regain access.
He brought the case to the Court of Appeal this week, with Tuesday marking the day of the verdict being delivered in Dublin.
Chaotic scenes saw members of the Burke family hurl abuse at the judge as it became clear the verdict was to fall against Enoch, with the judge ordering Gardaí to remove Ammi Burke from the courtroom, before Martina Burke accused the judge of bowing before the altar of transgenderism".
RTÉ News cameras caught the astonishing scenes outside the courthouse as members of the Burke family were forcibly removed from the premises by Gardaí - and, naturally, the Irish public were quick to take to social media and poke fun at the ludicrous situation.
