As we face many more weeks at home to curb the spread of the coronavirus, the challenge to keep ourselves occupied can become increasingly difficult. If you are a parent, there's the further demand of keeping children occupied.
One option to help you do so is your local library. Though nearly all amenities are closed due to the Covid-19 emergency, it is still possible to borrow ebooks, audiobooks and more.
It can be all be done easily and quickly online without having to leave the safety of your home.
You can sign up through Libraries Ireland.
Once you have done so, you can use your new library number and pin code (both of which you get immediately) to download audiobooks and ebooks to your computer or through the BorrowBox app on your tablet or phone.
You can also use your new library membership to read magazines through the RB Digital app (or at https://lgma.rbdigitalglobal.com/). Titles such as The Economist, New Scientist, The New Yorker, Time and many more are available.
In addition, you can also use the Pressreader app (or Pressreader.com) and your library number to read numerous national and local newspapers.
There are also numerous online classes which can be accessed at https://lgma.universalclass.com/.
You can find out more about these services on the Libraries Ireland website.
