As anyone who turned on the television or the internet yesterday knows, we live in strange times.

Things that seemed once improbable are now very probable.

For example, in more normal times, you never would have expected to hear a group like Kneecap played on a podcast like the Joe Rogan Experience. The worldviews of Kneecap and Rogan are diametrically opposed, but such is the power of music that Rogan seemed to be the latest convert to Kneecap's tunes.

It all happened on episode #2256 of The Joe Rogan Podcast Experience entitled 'Protect Our Parks', which was uploaded last week. In this episode, Rogan was joined by comedians Shane Gillis, Mark Normand and Ari Shaffir for a wide-ranging, five-hour long conversation on all things happening in the world.

Gillis was the person introducing Kneecap to Rogan. He is a big fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Ireland the country. He's shared his tales of a fight in Dublin on Rogan's show before and has told a story about night out with the Kneecap boys in Philly, where he says he donned the tricolour balaclava and was shouting "Free Palestine".

Gillis brought his Kneecap fandom to the massive Joe Rogan audience last week, as they played the song "Get The Brits Out."

There are many surreal moments in the clip, such as this snippet of dialogue:

Rogan: What's Kneecap?

Gillis: An Irish rap band. They rap in Irish.

Rogan: An Irish rap band? From Ireland? Really. Whoa? I want to hear this. Like House of Pain? Are they still around, the Brits?

Rogan seemed to enjoy the track and talked about adding it to a Spotify playlist at the end of the snippet.

Last week, Kneecap were nominated for six BAFTAs for their self-titled film and said triumphantly:

"And lo and behold, it’s an Irish language film that’s done it because we built all your roads and we win all your awards."

Maybe toppling the Trump empire from within is their next project.
