The Sunday Times has published its Rich List for 2017 in today's paper detailing the wealthiest people in Ireland.
It features a specific list of Ireland's richest sportmen - none of whom crack the overall top 100.
Top of the list is a name who will be unfamiliar to many - Martin Birrane. The 81-year-old is a former Le Mans 24-hours race driver who became a property magnate. He also owns the Mondello Park racetrack.
The list features four others from the of motorsport - Eddie Jordan, Eddie Irvine, Donagh Kelly and Frank Keane.
Donagh Kelly, who was Irish rally champion in 2015, owns half of KN Networks which provides services to the telecommunications industry. Frank Keane, who made his wealth through car sales, is also a former racing driver.
Simon McDowell is a notable name on the list. McDowell is a former rugby player turned referee. Famously, he was the TMO for France vs Scotland in the 2007 Six Nations, awarding a highly contentious try to Elvis Vermeulen which won the Championship on points for the French. McDowell's wealth comes from his family business in Antrim, Kilwaughter Chemical Company.
