Nick Kyrgios has emerged as the new star of Australian tennis with Leyton Hewitt set to retire and Bernard Tomic looking unlikely to fulfil his early potential.
Aussie fans might love him but it's moments like these that have led quite a few people to compare him to Kanye West in a 'talented but with a god-complex' kind of way. This rather bizarre game was in response to being warned for swearing.
Kyrgios' show of petulance contributed towards a set he lost 6-1. He then managed to win the 3rd set against 21st seed Richard Gasquet. He ultimately lost a 4th set tie-break to continue his blurring of the line between talented and turbulent.
Australian fans have been boisterous in their support at Wimbledon this year, but a Facebook message to which Kyrgios replied has seen things take a strange turn. Mitchell McConachy wrote to the young star saying "If you reply to this I'll cover my face in Vegemite".
Kyrgios replied, and McConachy kept his word.
Kyrgios shared the post on his Facebook page, which has since started a trend among his Australian fans. He has since expressed his appreciation towards the show of support.
So this has sort of taken off... fans covering their faces in weird and wonderful stuff, this time delicious... http://t.co/lMeMXz5m6X

Whether you love or loathe him, he's got talent and he's not going away. The same can be said for Kanye.
