Ronnie O'Sullivan spent another casual afternoon lounging about in sporting immortality today, with a truly astonishing display against Marco Fu in the first round of the British Masters.
O'Sullivan won 6-0, with Fu failing to pot a ball in the first four frames, his only five points across those frames coming from an O'Sullivan foul. In total, Ronnie amassed a total of 649 points to Fu's 35 points. His highest break was 121.
The only slight relief for Fu is the fact that his public evisceration was relatively shortlived, as Ronnie took care of business in one hour and 22 minutes.
Remarkably, O'Sullivan spoke afterward of the fact he had suffered dizzy spells during the match. He told the BBC of his in-match struggle.
To be honest with you I'm really struggling. I've got a virus or something, and I feel very dizzy.
I was just playing off instinct. I thought 'don't stop, don't think, just pot balls'. I've been feeling like that the last five or six days.
I think it's maybe a lack of magnesium, that's what my nutritionist told me. I've been eating well the last four months and maybe overdone the exercise and made myself a bit ill.
Hope I’m feeling better next round 🤧😉🚀 pic.twitter.com/lDjg7rCpwO
