Our favourite snooker mishap of the year happened during the summer. Marco Fu told his Twitter followers not to expect much from him in the opening two events of the year - he'd forgotten to enter the tournaments.
Neil Robertson did enter the Yushan World Open, scheduled to be played in China later this month. First, he would have to negotiate a qualifier against Ian Burns at the Barnsley Metrodome.
It was during that trip to Barnsley when the Australian had his mishap. He set his sat nav for the Barnsley in Gloucestershire, not the one of Yorkshire where the qualifier was being held.
The two towns are three hours apart by car.
When I realised there was a 2nd Barnsley it was too late to get to the other one🥴 Hopefully I’ll be able to either play or complete a match this season😢 pic.twitter.com/dmRezQfBvH

On Monday, World Snooker thought it best to ensure Robertson makes it to the English Open later this month, telling him in a letter:
"Please find below directions from Cambridge to K2 Crawley for the 19.con English Open.
"Note there are also locations called Crawloey in Oxfordshire and Hampshire. The correct one is in Sussex.
"We hope to see you there.!
