What's rare is beautiful. Mark Selby achieved snooker immortality and had the Crucible in raptures tonight as he became the first player to ever hit a maximum 147 break in the final of the Snooker World Championships.
It came in the 16th frame, with the Joker trailing his Belgian opponent Luca Brecel 9-5. What commenced was nearly 10 minutes of snooker perfection. Selby is the tenth player to ever hit a 147 at the Crucible and the second in this competition, along with Kyren Wilson.
You can watch every shot of the 147 here.
Roy Keane was in the gantry this evening:. Selby's perfect break had many on Twitter making the same joke.
We're delighted to host Roy Keane this evening.
