In the history of unlikely alliances, there are few less likely than a Ranelagh cueist and the martial arts acting superstar from Hong Kong.
But it seems Ken Doherty and Jackie Chan have become great ole pals over the weekend, whilst the 1997 World Champion was in the Far East to take part in World Snooker's China Open.
Doherty explained to World Snooker that he was invited to meet the Hollywood star at a charity event, where the pair had a bit of grub and a bit of karaoke, before getting down to the real business on the baize.
Chan showed his prowess with cue in hand as he performed a trick shot that John Virgo would have been proud of under the watchful eye of the 49-year-old Irish snooker hero, sinking the pink.
And it looked like the lads went on to enjoy themselves with a few drinks thereafter. Somebody was out a fair clip on Jaegerbombs by the look of it.
Doherty hasn't won on tour since 2006 and having had a rake of scoops over the weekend, it would have taken a brave man to bet on the World Number 65 overcoming reigning World Champion Mark Williams in Beijing.
But would you believe it, Doherty had the Welshman's number, progressing to a second round tie against either Ricky Walden or local favourite Chang Bingyu.
Despite starting the season with a string of first-round exits, Doherty has at least got a few wins on the board over the last couple of tournaments.
Having made the second round of both the Welsh Open and Snooker Shoot-Out, Doherty beat Oli Lines and Francisco Sanchez last time out in Gibraltar before crashing out to Gary Wilson in the round of 32.
Chan has recently worked with John Cena on Scott Waugh's action-adventure film Project X-Traction which will be released later this year.
