The best-of-25 match resumes on Monday at 2.00pm, but after an in-form Trump won a remarkable eight frames in a row, he took control of the tie.
Trump is now on the verge of completing the Triple Crown of winning all of snooker's top three events. Speaking on Eurosport, Ronnie O'Sullivan suggested this final is all but over: "The way Jude is playing, I think this is done and dusted."
His superb showing included a fantastic red ball pot that had many reminiscing over Alex 'Hurricane' Higgins' magic shot.
