When Balls woke bleary-eyed this morning, we did not realise we would soon be invigorated by the opportunity to include the words 'Steve Davis', Techno Music' and 'Tullamore' in the same headline. We will leave the (admittedly incredibly ironic) power rankings of great headlines to other outlets, but we humbly suggest that this is right up there with the headline heavyweights like 'Headless Body In Topless Bar'.
Steve Davis announced a tearful retirement to the Crucible last week, and revealed that he would continue his work as a pundit on the BBC. Retirement will also allow Davis to focus further on djing, one of is favourite past times. Davis frequently spins the decks on PhoenixFM in Essex, and has been hosting a weekly show since 1996. For a man who rose to fame by being boringly consistent and efficient in a bow-tie on the BBC, he surprisingly goes by the alias of DJ Thundermuscle.
Davis has now granted the wish of the lone Irish person whose interests intersect at 1985 World Championship Final and Oneohtrix Point Never by confirming he is making an appearance at the Castlepalooza Festival at Charleville Castle in Tullamore in July.
Tullamore here we come! Me and @Knifeworld spinning vinyl and taking on the @castlepalooza pool sharks! Be Afraid!! https://t.co/5q358SLHD4

Davis is also doing a fine job of marketing the festival, by spotting the 'Foreign Person Says Something Nice About Ireland' niche:
Apparently it's the most beautiful setting for a festival? @castlepalooza https://t.co/NU3iWRgAQx

Right on cue. Hey, all that headline was missing was a snooker pun. We had to get one in somewhere.
