The public/online community have given their verdict on the Irish Sports Book of the Year for 2014.
Roy Keane's book 'The Second Half' has been beaten to the award by Brian O'Driscoll for his autobiography 'The Test'. The prize was one decided by public vote rather than by a judging panel made up by literary critics and journalists.
My personal favourite was Alan McLoughlin's 'Different Shade of Green' - an exploration of complexities surrounding being Irish growing up in Britain.
Elsewhere on the night, Cecilia Ahern and Jeffrey Archer picked up prizes - demonstrating the democratic nature of awards. This was not the Pulitzers or the Booker.
