You can't talk about the Lions without talking about Willie John McBride. Willie John embodies everything people love about the Lions as well as the fact that he captained the Lions greatest ever squad in South Africa in 1974. It was that tour where McBride's legend grew, as he initiated a call known as "99" for when a South African attacked a Lion. When 99 was called, it was your job to punch the nearest Springbok in the face. As you can see from the videos below, it worked quite well.

The Lions take on the Waratahs this weekend 12 years after the infamously fiery encounter where Duncan McCrae hopped on Ronan O'Gara. Will Sam Warburton have his own 99 call for this weekend?
