Will Greenwood's British and Irish Lions selection before the Six Nations began raised a few eyebrows as he included in the starting line-up Leinster starlet Adam Byrne, the 22-year-old winger who has yet to be picked for the Irish senior squad. But there is less luck for the Irish in his latest Lions selection.
After a disappointing weekend for Ireland in the Six Nations, Greenwood has taken the fairly novel step of selecting a British and Irish Lions 'team of the weekend' (and in the process has earned himself a good amount of criticism from people who clearly haven't read the latter part of that description, Mike Brown's inclusion and Stuart Hogg's exclusion being a particular sore point). Suffice to say there aren't any Irish players in his first fifteen. A little harsh?
How good was the rugby?! @lionsofficial squad could be the best yet! I picked two teams from the weekend... so strong everywhere pic.twitter.com/sVMXDTyMV1

Sean O'Brien, Robbie Henshaw and Rob Kearney make the cut for his second string alongside CJ Stander and Simon Zebo but Scotland are less fortunate - no players from Vern Cotter's squad make the cut. Let's hope that Ireland produce a performance worthy of a few more spots this Friday when they take on England and try to stop Eddie Jones et al celebrating a second Grand Slam in-a-row and a world record 19 straight victories at their expense.
