With the chance to equal Toulouse's record-haul of four European Champions Cup wins, Leinster travel to Bilbao this weekend to take on France's Racing 92 in the Irish province's first final appearance since 2012. After a flawless performance in the pool stages, Leinster progressed to the quarter-final with a 100% win record.

A 30-19 win against Champions Cup holders Saracens followed in that round of 8; Leinster proceeding to make short work of Scarlets in a 38-16 romp at the Aviva Stadium in the semi-final.

Racing 92 made their way into the quarter-final after finishing second behind Munster in the pool stages. Four wins and two defeats leave their record looking a little bit more suspect than their final opponents.

Overcoming Clermont 28-17 in the quarter-final, Racing 92 stood in the way of an all-Irish final in Bilbao with their 27-22 defeat of Munster in Bordeaux late last month.

Well, Leinster and Racing 92 share between them the five nominees for this year's European Player of the Year.

Expected to be decided to by performance in this year's Champions Cup final, Scott Fardy, Tadhg Furlong and Johnny Sexton are the three Leinster players up for the award.

Of the Racing 92 contingent, Maxime Machenaud has already been ruled out of the final through injury. Leone Nakarawa is the other.
