The rugby season gets underway in anger this weekend: Leinster and Munster joust at the Aviva ahead of the return of the Champions Cup next weekend.

While both sides have played down the significance of this weekend's game in build-up - Rassie Erasmus called it a "training match" - it remains among the highlights of the sporting weekend, and here are the details on where to watch Leinster v Munster on Saturday.

Where to watch Leinster v Munster

What channel is it on?

The game is live on a range of different channels: TG4, Sky Sports Arena and Sky Sports Main Event.

What time does it get underway?

Kick off at the  Aviva is at 2pm on Saturday. Coverage begins at 1.35pm on TG4, and at the later time of 1.45pm  on the Sky Sports channels.

Both sides hit the ground running at the beginning of the season but have run into a couple of difficulties of late. Munster won their opening three games before suffering a heavy, 37-10 defeat to Glasgow. They bounced back with a comfortable win over Cardiff Blues at Thomond last weekend. They trail Glasgow by four points at the top of Conference A.

Leinster, meanwhile, endured a nightmare trip to South Africa in which two players were denied visas and another was kicked off a plane prior to a 38-19 mauling against the Cheetahs.

They have the same number of points as Munster - 19 - but sit two points off the top side in Conference B - Scarlets.

Will the big names make an appearance?

Munster have reintroduced all of their Lions now: Conor Murray, Peter O'Mahony and CJ Stander all appeared against Cardiff last weekend, a game graced by the returning JJ Hanrahan and marred by a long-term injury to Jaco Taute.

Leinster, meanwhile, also had their Lions back a week ago: Johnny Sexton, Tadhg Furlong, Jack McGrath, and Sean O'Brien were all back in action. Robbie Henshaw, meanwhile, is optimistic of returning from injury on Saturday.

A reminder on where to watch Leinster v Munster: on TG4, Sky Sports Arena and Sky Sports Main Event on Saturday afternoon, with kick off slated for 2pm.
