Bundee Aki is one of the most exciting imports to play rugby in Ireland. The New Zealand-born centre joined Connacht in 2014 from Super Rugby's Waikato Chiefs.
Aki won a Super Rugby title with the Chiefs in his debut season, as he made 12 appearances and scored six tries.
Initially signed on a three-year deal, Aki penned an extension with Connacht in October 2016 which sees him contracted until 2020. That deal also saw him become Connacht's highest paid player, earning a salary of somewhere between €350,000 - 400,000.
When is Bundee Aki eligible to play for Ireland?
Under World Rugby's three-year residency rule, Bundee Aki is eligible to play for Ireland in October 2017. That means he could be selected to play in this year's November internationals and also the 2018 Six Nations.
Though he will be eligible, it is not certain if he will play for Ireland. Earlier this year, Aki said he has not yet made up his mind regarding his international allegiance.
I literally do not know what I want to do at the end of the season, or who I want to play for. First off, I need to make sure that Connacht do well.
