There'll be serious banter in the RTE studio with all this points difference craic. People will lobbing around abacus 'jokes' with abandon. It won't be funny to anyone outside said studio, but then that's the very definition of studio banter.
McGurk will be enthused by the whole thing. George, old-timey rugby romantic that he is, will have no time for it. He'll hark back to a time when rugby men knew that calculating points difference was far too pedantic an exercise to be bothering with. Why can't Ireland, England and Wales just share the championship?
We know all this will happen.
But what about everything else? How much do Ireland really need to win by tomorrow to go favourites in the race for the Six Nations title.
If Ireland were to win by 10 points tomorrow for instance, how likely is it they'll end up champions?
Paddy Power, who have supplied us with the odds, reckon a 15 point win for Ireland tomorrow will leave them no better than evens to win the championship. Winning by 20 points, meanwhile, makes them slight favourites at 10/11.
Here are Paddy Power's Six Nations odds.
