Welsh newspaper, the Western Mail, today names Shaun Edwards as a contender to succeed Declan Kidney as head coach of the Irish rugby team.
The paper says Edwards' "burgeoning CV" which includes him being part of the coaching ticket for Wales recent Six Nations win "has alerted Irish rugby bosses to the Wigan-born 46-year-old after Kidney's departure following Ireland's championship flop".
Edwards was not even in the betting as of last week.
