Racing 92 were hammered at home today against Clermont Auvergne after a 40-17 shoot-out.
It was a disappointing result for the club on what was their first home game of the season. The boot of Greig Laidlaw and some magic from Wesley Fofana ensured Laurent Labit's side were well beaten. However, there was some promising signs for recent arrival Simon Zebo who scored his first try late to make the scoreline a little more respectable.
Another stand-out moment came with Donnacha Ryan, who thundered into Loni Uhila after a hospital pass left him exposed.
The result sees Clermont move to the top of table, just ahead of Paul O'Connell's Stade Francais in second place. Racing will face Stade Francais at the end of the month in a game that will see significantly more Irish involvement than normal.
