The rugby 7s has provided a wide variety of entertainment that included some remarkable drama and moments of excitement at Twickenham Stadium today, with Ireland reaching the semi-finals after a historic win over the USA. It even produced some comical moments, such as this doozy in the Samoa vs Spain game.
With just 3 minutes gone, Samoa got in under the posts for a routine try. However, they elected to share the score with a team-mate and bafflingly, passed forward.

In the end, it proved to be embarrassing but not costly as Samoa ran out 26-10 winners. As for Irish interest, a loss against Fiji in the semi-finals halted their run but they will face England in the Bronze Medal Final at 5.32pm.
