Ireland secured a last-gasp win over Australia thanks to a Terry Kennedy try at the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Cape Town, South Africa.
A week after their debut as a core side in Dubai, Ireland were looking for a better outcome on this tour. Last week, Anthony Eddy’s outfit finished with one win and a 12th-placed finish.
However, tries from Aaron O'Sullivan, John O'Donnell and Billy Dardis, as well as a sensational last-gasp score from Kennedy, ensured they opened their opening Cape Town 7s tie.
A beautiful dummy set the Irish flyer free and from there, his speed saw him home.
