Stade Francais winger Josaia Raisuqe was dismissed by referee Nigel Owens just seconds before the half-time whistle as Munster trailed their French hosts by a score of 10-0 in the ECC on Saturday evening.
Owens was alerted to a possible incident involving the Stade player and CJ Stander by the TMO, and upon watching the replay back, Raisuqe was given his marching orders for an utterly stupid use of fingers to the face of the Munster number eight.
While Owens was told that no contact with the eye was made, he still decided to send the player off which did not go down well with the home fans, and while other officials may have issued a yellow in that instance, Nigel clearly felt that the utterly needless act was deserving of a dismissal.
Seconds before half-time, with your side leading 10-0, and you go and do that for absolutely no reason at all?
Utterly brainless.
