Form Guide
Both sides come into this fixture off the back of absolutely disastrous weekends in Europe. Munster went crashing out in the round of 16, the week before last with the Sharks putting 50 points on them. The Stormers fared slightly better winning a closely contested round of 16 game by four points but ultimately were thrashed 42-17 by Exeter in the quarter-finals.
Despite a poor two weeks from Munster that saw them suffer heavy losses in the Champions Cup and the URC, their league form before that had been positive winning four games on the bounce before their 12-point loss to Glasgow. That run of wins left Munster in a comfortable fifth place and barring a disaster safely through to the URC quarter-finals. Munster's only concern will be the Stormer's incredible form.
Currently second in the table and the defending URC champions, the Stormers are now four URC games unbeaten and recently held top-seed Leinster to a draw in the RDS. While their prospects of catching Leinster are now impossible, they're just two points ahead of Ulster and will be determined not to give up any home advantages, given the considerable challenge of travelling to Europe.
Head to head, the Stormers are the defending champions, in better form and typically very strong at home giving them the edge. However, the last time these sides met in late 2021 Munster won with relative comfort 34-18. While they're up against it if Munster perform to their capabilities as they have on occasions this year, they'll have every chance of upsetting the defending champions.
