Form Guide

While Munster have had their share of rocky moments this season, they certainly found their form against the second-place Stormers last weekend. In arguably their biggest and most important win of the season, Munster showed grit and fought tooth and nail to beat the Stormers despite plenty of people writing them off.

Beyond Saturday's performance, Munster have now won five of their last six games, their only loss a poor game against Glasgow where in their defence a number of key players were absent. With Munster now safely into the playoffs and just five points behind fourth-place Glasgow, a bonus point win on Saturday coupled with a loss for Glasgow would see Munster have home advantage in the quarter-finals.

The Sharks on the other hand have been struggling for form of late, losing three of their last five matches. They did win last weekend seeing off Benneton by ten points, however conceding 33 points at home in South Africa will be a concern. In saying that they played this Munster team at just three weeks ago when they thrashed them 50-35.

Head-to-head they met in the round of 16 of the Champions Cup and Munster simply couldn't live with them crashing out of Europe in what was an absolute disaster for the province. However, their performance last weekend was a world away from that loss and if they can perform like that again, there is little reason why they couldn't have their revenge come Saturday.

Team News

The big news for Munster is that Keith Earls has been named on the bench, meaning he'll make his 200th appearance for Munster should he come on. Jack Crowley starts at outhalf and Peter O'Mahony captains the side.
