They did it. And they probably had it done by half time. A young team of absolute heroes have done something no other Irish team has done in 70 years - that is win a Grand Slam with wins in Paris and London.
And they did it in Twickenham, on St. Patrick's Day. Unbelievable.
Ireland's 24-15 win over England couldn't even be marred by a last second consolation English try. After a battle of attrition in which Ireland lost Bundee Aki, Keith Earls and Johnny Sexton, all 23 heroes, as well the likes of Robbie Henshaw and Chris Farrell who played such a vital part earlier in the competition, were on the field to collect their medals and the Six Nations trophies after winning everything that had been put in front of them this season.
In a nice touch, Peter O'Mahony and Johnny Sexton shared the duties to lift the Triple Crown trophy while captain Rory Best lifted the Six Nations trophy.

What an achievement. What a team.
Ireland are now undefeated in over a year, having won 12 Test Matches in a row. We go to Australia in the summer, and the World Cup isn't too far away either. Let's hope there's more of this to come.
