The Ireland U20s caught their Welsh counterparts by surprise when they hit the ground running in their U20 Six Nations campaign.
In just the fourth minute of the match Johnny McPhillips found outside centre Shane Daly who linked up with his midfield partner Jimmy O'Brien, and the Leinster man was very unlucky not to find the corner.
However, some great follow-up play from Cillian Gallagher meant that after some deliberation from the TMO, Ireland had the perfect start.
Wonderful rugby, very encouraging.
Much had been made of the experience of the Welsh side in the build up to this game, and while that is certainly a valid point, they were caught cold by Ireland who couldn't have dreamt for a better start.
Unfortunately Wales hit back within 15 minutes to set up a cracker of a game.
