Georgian fullback Soso Matiashvili demonstrated yesterday that fortune does truly favour the bold with a stunning finish during his sides 54-22 victory over Canada.
The 24 year-old's effort is all the more impressive considering he created it himself with a deft chip into the Canadian backfield. The kicker turned chaser and pursued the ball, managing to touch it down at the last possible moment.

To the surprise of everyone, including referee Ben Whitehouse, the TMO confirmed the score. This was Matiashvili's second try of his country's six-try procession. In total he landed a Georgian record 34 points during a game, adding 24 points from the boot.
Georgia, ranked 12th in the world currently, take on Wales next week. It will be the first rugby test match between the nations. Matiashvili and his side will be eager to make a statement at the Principality Stadium given the sides are set to meet at the Rugby World Cup as well, having been drawn alongside each other in Pool D.
