Leinster ran out 30-23 winners over Edinburgh at the RDS, with a strong second half display fending off the spirited Scots and accruing a bonus point for the Pro12 leaders.
The game took a more sinister twist on the 77-minute mark, when Fergus McFadden almost took Scottish winger Damien Hoyland's head clean off his shoulders with a frighteningly high hit.
McFadden's punishment manifested itself only in a physical sense as he escaped a card, conceding only a penalty for what seemed - at least at first, second and third glance - like a tackle which warranted more.
Even those of you with pigeon Irish will know what "Ó, bhí sé an-ard!" means, but the fans' gasps say it all, here.
But if the referee was lenient towards the Leinster and Ireland utility back, fans - many of a Leinster persuasion - were quick to vilify the 29-year-old from Kilkenny.
@fergmcfadden is one lucky man avoiding any sort of card, clear red after that disgraceful tackle #PRO12Rugby
