Belfast hosted the BBC Sports Personality Of The Year awards for 2015 on Sunday evening, and the atmosphere was fantastic as a who's who of talent from the world of sport donned their finest threads for the big occasion.
After helping the All Blacks to a Rugby World Cup win in 2015, Dan Carter was voted overseas sports personality of the year, 20 years after the award was won by fellow All Black and legend of the game Jonah Lomu.
The big man of course tragically passed away in November, and Carter expressed his happiness at having had the chance to get to know him as he received his award.
He changed the sport forever. He's the sole reason that rugby became professional.
He was such a caring, thoughtful guy, and he will be sorely missed.
Well said Dan.
And of course congratulations to Mr.Carter for winning the overseas sports personality of the year award from the BBC.
