He might have a ludicrously silly name but during Gloucester's 23-3 defeat at the hands of Wasps on Sunday, Billy Twelvetrees did something rather remarkable. After taking a couple of shots from Lorenzo Cittadini near the end of the Premiership clash, Twelvetrees took the decision to plead with the referee not to send off the Italian international.
'There's nothing there, that's just the breakdown' is not something you'd usually hear from an opposition player in that situation. Referee Ian Tempest was having none of that, even going as far as telling Twelvetrees to jog on, before he duly showed Cittadini a red card.
The game may have been over as a contest at the time but nonetheless, it's still a very impressive bit of sportsmanship.
