Munster fans will have struggled to watch the closing stages of their European Champions Cup defeat away to Stade Francais, as the French side nearly claimed a bonus point with some wonderful flowing rugby at the death while down to 14 men.
Things were looking up for Munster at half-time, as Stade had just had a player sent off for an eye-gouge on CJ Stander, but instead the men in red slumped to a 27-7 defeat, and the man advantage was hardly noticed at all. It was unfortunately the latest in a string of seriously unimpressive performances, and the outlook going forward is bleak for Munster fans.
Alan Quinlan was in the Sky Sports studio, and when asked for his thoughts on the performance he described it as embarrassing, and summed up the feelings of the whole fanbase as he explained that the way the province is run must be totally re-vamped.
Very interesting comments. While he acknowledges that there is a lack of talent in the current squad, he stresses that Munster fans can't put up with a lack of desire and passion from their players.
It looks as tough times lie ahead for the province, so clearly changes need to be made.
