The chances of Rhys Ruddock switching his allegiances to Wales appear to be very real after hearing Warren Gatland's comments at the Six Nations launch this morning.
We reported earlier this month on the comments from Rhys' father, Mike, although it was far from concrete evidence, and more so speculation over a potential move.
"It’s not for me to tell Wales who to select, but purely as a father I would love to see him pull on a red jersey," Mike Ruddock said.
"It’s where he grew up as a rugby player, he played for Wales U18s before his life took a different turn and I’m sure he would add a huge amount of experience and leadership qualities to that squad."

However, while Warren Gatland did mention the age of the 33-year-old and his lack of game time for Leinster this season - he has not played since November - he confirmed that there has been ongoing discussions about the flanker's availability:
We understand that he is available at some stage during the tournament.
Given his age, he is not playing a lot or starting a lot for Leinster. But we know what a quality player he is.

"He made his decision a number of years ago in terms of his allegiance with Ireland," Gatland added.
"And we respect that, but we have had a couple of conversations about him and we have spoken to his Dad as well, and we understand that he is potentially available going forward."
Ruddock made his debut for Ireland at just 19 back in 2010, and played his last game against France during the 2021 Six Nations.
If Gatland wants to call upon his services, he will be available for Wales' visit to Dublin on February 24.
