Wales fans will have to get their pints in early during this year's Six Nations, as the Welsh Rugby Union have announced that all bars in the Principality Stadium will close at half-time of their games against Scotland, France, and Italy.
The decision comes from the WRU after multiple pitch invasions during the Autumn Series - including one which arguably cost them a try and a potential win against South Africa.
Wales to close stadium bars at half-time of Six Nations games to stop antisocial behaviour
Wales will welcome fans back to the Principality Stadium for Six Nations games for the first time since 2020 when they host Scotland on the 12th of February. Any fans who were in attendance for the 2020 Six Nations may see a change to their matchday routine.
The WRU have announced that bars across the stadium will close at half-time of the visits of Scotland, France, and Italy to Cardiff, in an attempt to prevent further antisocial incidents in the stadium.
During the Autumn Internationals, there were multiple pitch invasions during Wales games at the Principality. The most notable saw a man run onto the pitch with Wales and South Africa tied at 15-15 and Wales in a position to score a try. The invader blocked the play and prevented the opportunity to score. Wales would go on to lose the game.
Absolute madness. Probably the most unpopular man in Wales right now#WALvRSA pic.twitter.com/zfLXuV3tZa

The WRU announced the decision on Wednesday to close all outlets - including food stalls - immediately after half-time of all games. The organisation's chief executive Steve Phillips said in a statement:
We want our supporters to remain passionate and enthused and to continue to bring their best voices to the Principality Stadium – throughout the recent pandemic it is our supporters who we, and the Wales team, have missed most – but we also need them to behave responsibly and to encourage those around them to do the same.
There may well be carnage at the bars at half-time in Cardiff during the Six Nations, but the WRU clearly hope that their move will help to prevent further obstructions for the team on the pitch.
