There has been some strange goings on in the Wales team hotel at Oatlands Park Hotel in Weybridge this week. According to some members of the Welsh squad they have been uncomfortable due to what they describe as a supernatural presence in the hotel they are staying in.
Welsh flanker James King thinks his teammates may have shipped one too many blows to the head during the world cup. The gullible pair are backrow colleagues Toby Faletau and Dan Lydiate. Speaking to the Telegraph, King said:
There are a couple of stories about Henry VIII here but I haven’t seen any yet. Faletau and Lydiate have done their research and they said they saw a couple of ghosts the other week.
The Urban legend, or "grey lady" legend as locals know it, goes that a maid threw herself from the bell tower after a lovers quarrel. She supposedly landed next to the room 1313 and guests regularly complain of unexplained temperature changes.
Samson Lee said that Faletau and Lydiate claimed that they had seen a ghost but himself and the rest of the Welsh squad aren't buying it. The tight head prop further elaborated by saying that:
I think it’s best to stay away from room 1313. Some of them reckon they have seen Henry VIII. It has been discussed over food and stuff like that and Dan Lydiate isn't happy about it. He actually thinks he’s seen a ghost but I think he’s dreaming.
The Welsh Rugby Union have also gotten in on the act tweeting out
Squad can confirm speculation. 'Paranormal presence' has been spotted by @dan_lydiate at team hotel. Awaiting further sightings...
