For a long time it appeared that the only legitimate contender to Richie McCaw's King of the breakdown title was one David Pocock of the Brumbies and Australia. The flanker burst onto the international scene in 2009 and was comfortably one of the finest opensides in the world up until injuries began to curtail him in 2012.
Pocock has made his comeback this season and on Friday put in a monstrous performance in the Brumbies 16-14 loss to the Blues at Eden Park. A performance that's already seen whispers in the Sydney Morning Herald of Pocock replacing current Wallabies 7 Micheal Hooper:
