Australia flanker David Pocock twice approached referee Craig Joubert during the Waratahs 28-13 win over the Brumbies in the Super 15 today to make him aware of what he perceived to be homophobic abuse towards Brumbies players:

Soon after the above incident, Pocock again approached Joubert and said:
“You heard that sir .. you can’t say that, there could be gay players out there.”
Afterwards Pocock stressed that this wasn't a witch hunt and made his clear his position - a position we can all be glad he backs up when the time comes:
I didn't hear anything. I just had a few players coming to me saying there were homophobic slurs being thrown out, and I guess it is something at the Brumbies we have said it is not acceptable and we are not going to tolerate this.
“We were just making the referee aware. I put it with racism and all sorts of other things that aren’t good enough.”
