USA produced a superb comeback win against Scotland in Houston on Saturday night. It was the Americans' first ever win against a tier one rugby nation.
The win was made all the more remarkable by USA having to comeback from 21-6 down to win the game.
Scotland scored the first three tries of the game. It looked especially ominous for the States when Stuart Hogg sent Blair Kinghorn flying down the wing for the Scots' first try after just two minutes. A penalty try and another from hooker George Turner followed within the opening 32 minutes.
All the US had managed in reply were two AJ MacGinty penalties until hooker Joe Taufete'e went over shortly before the break. That left the score at 21-13 by half-time.
Another Taufete'e try just after the break - converted by MacGinty - and added to by another penalty from the former Connacht out-half left the US trailing by just a point.
With 20 minutes to go, MacGinty launched a garyowen into the Scottish 22. It was one Matt Fagerson dealt with disastrously allowing MacGinty to collect his mishandling of the ball and send backrow Hanco Germishuys over in the corner.
MacGinty added the conversion. It was one which proved crucial as Scotland scored a try through Dougie Fifie with the clock deep in the red.
The game on the line, Blair Kinghorn was unable to add the extras handing the US a famous 30-29 win in Houston.
