Ulster defeated Munster at home in Belfast this evening, 21-14, in what was their second interpro of the season, following last weekend's loss away to Connacht.
Rob Herring, who came off the bench for his 230th appearance and became Ulster's most capped player ever, fittingly won the final turnover of the game to secure the win.
Unsurprisingly, however, the Munster faithful were not overly pleased with referee Frank Murphy's performance, particularly with his interpretation of the break down.
Munster Fans Rage At Performance Of Frank Murphy In Ulster Loss
Murphy, who is from Cork and also played for Munster, is often questioned on whether he overcompensates by being too harsh on his former team.
These allegations do not hold up to scrutiny, but it has to be said that Ulster were fortunate not to receive a yellow card, after multiple penalties and warnings from Frank Murphy when Munster were attacking deep in their 22.

Why did Frank Murphy keep calling Henderson Hendy? Like imagine the reaction from Johnny if he'd ever called him Sexto

There was also an early yellow card for Shane Daly, who was unfortunate to be sent to the bin, as there was no head-to-head or shoulder-to-head contact during the tackle, while ball carrier Ethan McIlroy was also stooped very low.
But it was Ulster's bench that was the difference maker, rather than Murphy, with academy man and debutant Scott Wilson producing a wonderful cameo, with the experienced Herring and Iain Henderson turning the tide at the Kingspan.
Ulster's last gap defence during the closing stages also came up clutch, as they held Josh Wycherley up over the line in the final minute.
Jacob Stockdale continued his fine form as well, and chipped in with another try after latching onto a perfect cross-field from Billy Burns.
The win sends Ulster to second in the URC table, with Munster in fourth.
