We called it back in April but little did we think that anything would come of it. The victorious All Blacks and their litany of world class players are home and thoughts are turning to what comes next. When it comes to southern hemisphere players who happen to be out of contract, that usually entails some big money moves to Europe.
The big money might still be found in France but that's not to say the Irish provinces can't still hold their own when it comes to attracting some of the world's best. The likes of Francis Saili and Charles Piutau were convinced to join Munster and Ulster respectively and now it looks like Victor Vito might be on his way also.
According to the Irish Independent, Ulster are in the market for a number eight to replace Nick Williams at the end of this season and Les Kiss is eyeing up Vito. The 28 year old has lost his regular starting spot for the All Blacks but he was still a rather decent option from the bench for Steve Hansen during the Rugby World Cup.
There's sure to be plenty of competition from Top 14 sides but it seems Ulster are in a financial position to make challenge any potential suitor. With fellow All Black Piutau also heading for Ravenhill at the end of the season, it's certainly conceivable that Vito could be tempted by what Ulster have to offer.
