Three Irish players have been selected for the IRB's team of the Women's Rugby World Cup.
Goal-kicking full back Niamh Briggs, who delivered a flawless performance against New Zealand, was unsurprisingly selected. She was joined on the team by hooker Gillian Bourke and second rower Marie Louise Reilly.
Briggs was just pipped for the Player of the Tournament award by Canadian winger Magali Harvey.
Interestingly, the team of the tournament contained more Irish players than English players, despite the England won the whole kaboodle, beating Canada 21-9 in the final on Sunday.
After Ireland's loss to France in the third place playoff last Saturday, captain Fiona Coghlan, who made her international debut 13 years ago and led Ireland to the Grand Slam in 2013, announced her retirement.
