Doubts were cast over Paul O'Connell's rumoured move to Toulon when French newspaper Midi Olympique reported that the Top 14 club had cooled their interest due to an old injury of the second row's.
They also said that Toulon may wait until after the World Cup to sign O'Connell as a 'medical joker', a move which could save them some money.
Reports to the contrary have now emerged. According to RTÉ, O'Connell is in Toulon and is likely to complete a deal before the Top 14 transfer window closes at midnight tonight.
