News broke earlier this week that a total of fifteen members of the Australian squad had been disciplined by Ewen McKenzie following a late night out in Dublin last week. Now an Australian newspaper has uncovered a few more details about the night out.
It seems that eight or nine of the players enjoyed a night of free alcohol in Krystle on Harcourt Street.
Co-owner of the nightclub, Rangan Arulchelvan, told the Daily Telegraph:
There were eight or nine players here, I was here myself on that night and they behaved well.
They came in at about 11pm and were here until 3.30am, people came up and took photos with them and wanted autographs signed throughout the night and the players were friendly, they posed for photos and signed everything.
They had a mix of everything, I would say it was worth about €1500.
Krystle's VIP section would usually have been closed on that night of the week but they opened it up especially for the Wallabies.
So that's approximately €166 worth of alcohol consumed per player in the four and a half hours in the club. Certainly quite a bit but not ridiculously extravagant.
