The New Zealand Herald Are Back Throwing Shapes At Gordon D'Arcy

Those Kiwis are getting the digs in early. One column in the Irish Times and Gordon D'Arcy has become the most talked about rugby pundit in the world. We'd say that's a measure of the man and his ability to dissect a rugby match but others would disagree.

Yesterday, we saw how the New Zealand Herald took a few O'Driscoll shaped digs at the Leinster man and it's fair to say that not everyone on these shores agreed with Steve Deane's view that D'Arcy is 'best known for not being anywhere near as good as Brian O'Driscoll'.

Let's be honest, we do indignation better than anyone else in the world and when one of our own is criticised (particularly for sticking the boot into the English), we rally behind them.

And that's exactly what happened with Deane taking the time to include some of his Irish fan mail in his 'World's Cup' column today.

Ahh so you're one of those anonymous talentless journalists that makes up for it by writing sensationalist garbage.

However, before he got around to that critique, and in the course of acknowledging that not everyone agreed with his view, he still had time to throw in one more little dig at D'Arcy, describing him thusly;

Hard-hitting Irish Times columnist and less hard-hitting former rugby international Gordan D'Arcy.

Our indignation machines are going wild here. This isn't over Deane.
