First things first. The good news is that we'll all have a new Ireland rugby jersey to cast our eyes over later this morning. No down side there. It's the kit in which we'll take on the Springboks in South Africa and it's also what we'll be wearing when we finally take down the All Blacks in Dublin and/or Chicago at the end of the year.
We're damn excited to see what that kit looks like but this time around, it won't just be as simple as having the jersey released in the manner in which we've become accustomed. Usually, we get notice that the jersey will be released, the jersey is released and we all get to see what said jersey looks like. Fairly straight forward. However, today's jersey launch is going to be slightly different.
Vodafone Ireland have today been announced as the IRFU's new partner and they've decided on a more collaborative feel to this kit launch. A giant jersey is going to be revealed live at the Aviva Stadium this morning but the catch is that it's going to be revealed strip by strip and you've got to help by using #TeamOfUs across all social media channels.
You can watch the big reveal here or at www.vodafone.ie/rugbylaunch.
Why #TeamOfUs?
Vodafone's thinking behind it is that a team is much more than the players on the field and the fans are a massive part of that, hence #TeamOfUs. And just in case helping to reveal the jersey by using #TeamOfUs on social media is not enough to get you to join in, there's also the chance to win one of 50 prizes including a grand prize of a trip to Chicago to see Ireland V All Blacks in November.
It's as simple as that. Just use #TeamOfUs to help unveil the new Ireland jersey this morning and you'll also be in the draw to win one of those 50 great prizes.
