THIS IS NOT A JOKE.
Yes, Neil Francis will be reviewing the Matthew Bourne version of Swan Lake for RTÉ Radio One's Mooney Show. Fresh from his apology over his comments on Off the Ball, which included him saying he had no interest in ballet, Francis went on air today to discuss the upcoming production.
Francis conceded that he had never actually been to ballet but said he's had it on his bucket list. Although he and Derek Mooney joked about this being his penance, Francis said 'I’ve agreed to do this because I want to do it.'
Bourne's production differs from the normal storyline of Swan Lake in that the main love story revolves around two males. When Mooney asked Francis if he'd be comfortable with that idea, he said 'I'll try anything once.'
