Is a player up for it? Is he not? You can tell a lot from the national anthem before a game or, perhaps, read too much into it.
Here's how we rated the Irish players for their performance of Amhrán na bhFiann against Scotland.
The quality of singing voice not taken into account.
Simon Zebo - 10/10
Performance rating possibly skewed due to the proximity of the microphone. But still, Zebo belted it out for the whole 60 seconds.
Donnacha Ryan - 9/10
Only loses a point because of the high standard he has set throughout the Six Nations so far. Perhaps lacking in facial sternness today. Gave it socks with the vocals, though.
Ultan Dillane 9/10
Super effort from the young Kerryman. Did not let his inexperience at this level show.
Robbie Henshaw 8/10
Solid performance during the game and pre-game.
Conor Murray 8/10
A player with consistently high standards from the first syllable of 'Sinne Fianna Fáil' to the final whistle.
CJ Stander 8/10
Strong performances of Amhrán na bhFiann have been one of the features of his debut Six Nations. That and a ridiculous number of carries.
Eoin Reddan 8/10
Experienced performer. Doesn't let the big stage get to him.
Fergus McFadden 8/10
A versatile performer on the pitch and off it.
Nathan White 8/10
The prop is the only non-singing player to get a rating - primarily because of that facial expression. He meant business today.
